ReSpool — Support
ReSpool writes the NFC tags that Anycubic ACE 3D printers read to identify
filament, so third-party spools are recognised like Anycubic's own.
Common questions
- The app says my tag cannot be written. Anycubic's own
tags are password-locked at the factory and cannot be reused. Use a blank
NTAG213 sticker (or larger) — a few pence each online.
- Nothing happens when I hold a tag to the phone. Hold the
top edge of the iPhone flat against the tag and keep it still until the
scan sheet confirms. Cases thicker than a few millimetres can block NFC.
- The printer does not recognise the tag. Scan the tag with
the app first to check what is on it. Every write is verified byte for
byte, so a tag that scans correctly holds exactly what was written.
- Something went wrong mid-write. A full backup is taken
before any write, under Library → Backups. Scan the tag again and
restore the backup if needed — nothing is lost.
- How does the Home Assistant integration fit in? Every tag
carries a unique spool ID, which the
hass-anycubic_cloud
integration reads so identical reels can be told apart.
